Default Camera Help/Advice needed

I am looking at buy a new camera. I want a DSLR camera for taking pictures as well as for videos. I have been looking at the Canon T6i as well as the Nikon D5300. Just wondering if anyone knows anything about either camera or have any opinions on the two brands?

My daughter and I both have Canon 60D bodies with multiple lenses. I don't think you can go wrong with Canon. Incredible photos. I will say it is heavy so if you plan on packing it into the field you will notice the weight.

I've a Nikon and when I talk to Canon users (ones who didn't have a choice in which camera they use) most wish they had a Nikon. But either camera is going to work very well for you it's down to personal preference. Something else to consider is the price of additional lenses (you'll want some believe me) Also just to take it to the next level there is a lot of excitement now with Mirrorless cameras.

Why don't you take a look at these:

Good luck with whatever you decide on!
