I need a little help please!!!!
 

First off I am a new member to this site. So I wanted to say hi! Now to the question. I bought a canon gl1 a few months ago and it uses them mini tapes. I just bought a new laptop computer for editing purposes and it doesn't have a firewire port or any way to put one in.:throw: Although the computer I am on Right now is my older one and it does have a firewire port, just isn't big enough to run my editing software. So is there a way to get my video captured from my camera to my new computer by using the old computer? Or is there a better way? Any and all help is much appreciated.

Hi. I purchased the pinnacle studio that comes with a dazzle. you plug your camera into it and it plugs into the USB port on your computer and you can dowload your video from there. The studio is also great! '

Thanks for the reply. I'll have to remember that. I bought some kind of audio to digital converter, that i'll try first.

Canopus ADVC-HD50 is a converter box where it has a firewire input and hdmi output. So you can plug your cam into the converter box and get the output on hdmi.
