There's quite a few different programs out there that you can go with and try out.. some have a higher learning curve to them, so it depends on what your experience is with video editing... also, it will depend on what you're willing to spend.
I use a program called Magix Movie Edit Pro 15, I think they have version 16 out now? It's very easy to jump into for a beginner but at the same time it gives you quite a bit of room to get creative with it and make some really slick stuff.
Otherwise alot of guys like the Vegas software or Adobe Suite... and if you're running a Mac of course, Final Cut.
My advice would be to get something simple at first that won't frustrate the heck outta ya, but meanwhile you can try demo versions of the higher end software if you think you wanna give 'em a shot!

Thanks, I'm downloading the trial for Magix. I'll give it a try first.

Oh yea, forgot they had a trial version to try out! Good luck with it and have fun!.. I'm sure there's plenty of programs out there that let you try before you buy.. just try some different ones out 'til you find what ya like!
