RE: Getting into the business

I have talked with several big name pros before and one who is a fairly good friend of mine and they hire cameramen to be cameramen and nothing more. Kind of dissapointing when you think you could slowly work your way to be in front of the camera but not be able to. Not saying this is how they all do it but many are this way and many more becoming this way. I have been thinking of possibly becoming a cameraman for the one but not sure if I want to because of this. Does'nt look like I would be able to be in front of the camera but maybe I would, is it worth the try or would I end up giving up a bunch of years of my own hunting up! Not saying I woul'nt enjoy it but I would rather hunt myself I think.

Why would they hire someone for something other than cameraman? If you want to be the host, you probably need to start your own show:eek:
