looking for a handycam

Hey guys sorry to bother you’s with a topic that I’m sure has been posted already… Just looking for a bit of advice… K so our old sony handycam kicked the bucket this year, and I’m looking for another to replace it. It ran on tapes,(and we have lots to spare)but I don’t know whether to get one that runs on taps, mini dvd’s, or internal memory… I've heard that tapes take the best footage and are most reliable, and thats pretty much what i'm looking for... Reliable consumer type handy cam that takes good quality footage.... What is your advice? Would save me alot of time in looking for a specific model. Thanks in advance!
Gerard

Go with mini dv tape format, any panasonic 3ccd camera will produce great images, or canon has a couple of HD models that are pretty sweet.

I would stick with mini DV too. A Sony HCR-52 only costs about $180 or so.
