If editing is a hobby for you, you won't need more than the Imac. If it is a business, the Mac Pro is way faster (time is money). The processor in the Imac is fine if you are doing dvd's for yourself or even if you are doing just a few a month. The Mac Pro is what you want if your doing a lot of projects, the render time is way faster. The Mac Pro will set you back some serious cash too. If your just working on projects in your free time, the Imac 20" 2,4GHz will be fine for $1500.00 The editing software that comes in the I-Life bundle will probably suit you fine. If you are a little more experienced, I would recommend Final Cut Express or Studio.

Yes, it comes with the I-life software bundle, it also comes with I-movie. It is a great editing software for the money(free with a Mac). If your just doing things for yourself, you will never need another editing program.

Here is the IDVD link. http://www.apple.com/ilife/idvd/ Here is the Imovie link. http://www.apple.com/ilife/imovie/
I was wrong about the software being free. It is $79.00. Still well worth it.
