RE: HuntercamcradlePro
I made my own out of a heavy duty tripod with 3 swivel points, and telescopicand a fluild head for $20 that I got at a flea market. It works great.

I use the Hd model for my DVX100............it works well but has a few flaws (like anything). Is probably the best arm for the money out there right now. What camera are you shooting?

The canonXHA1

The A1 is very similiar in size and weight to the DVX100, I would go with the Hd and the tree extension and put a good bogen fluid head on it (you can get the 3130 with the arm ). The Pro model is really for a heavier camera and is almost double the cost of the Hd.

RE: HuntercamcradlePro
I'm using the HunterCam HD arm and my one complaint is that I get a noticeable amount of flex in the arm with my GL2 equiped with an XLR adapter (which is pretty heavy), extended life battery, shotgun mic, and wireless mic receiver. I'll be upgrading to the Pro arm for this fall to eliminate that problem. IMO I would rather have too much arm than not enough. While the flex isn't a make or break deal with this arm as you can live with it and work around it, but its more of a little nuance that I'd rather just not have to think about.
Overall I've been very pleased with my HD arm. Easy to set up, quiet, and has a good amount of reach/extension. |
RE: HuntercamcradlePro
I use a HDPro with Canon XH A1. There is a bit of bounce but it can be dealt with. In order to get rid of bounce the arm would have to be made of a heavier material and made larger. Just make sure you don't lean on or rest your free arm on the mount and you'll be fine.
