Shotgun mics?
 

I've been looking around at shotgun mics for my dvx. In particular I'm looking at the Rode NTG-2. I've read good reviews on other sites and I think the option of phantom power or battery powered would be good, knowing I would use the batteries in the mic primarily. B&H has a pretty good deal on a kit with a Rode shock mount, but also like to know if that's good or if another shock mount would be better.
What are you guys using?

I have the exact setup you're talking about. It works great. Definately not as good as a sennheisser, but not too bad.Much more affordable as well. The shock mount works fine. I have never used any other mount so I don't have anything to compare it to, but the one that comes with the kit from BH has worked well for us.

Thanks for the reply. Agree on the Sennheiser mics. Not in my budget right now.
