Fawn and Yearling

I took these pics in a clearing at the top ofa mountain in Shenandoah National Park. Only saw one buck, and of course I didn't have my camera with me at that moment. Went up looking for bear, but only saw two while driving out of the park. Once again, my camera was not handy. Oh well. The pics I did get turned out pretty well.

Nice...I was up there this weekend and had a few photo ops. Sorry about the pic being slightly shakey. She scared the crap out of me! I was walking up a trail from one of the waterfalls with very heavy cover on both sides and was only 5 yards from her when she growled at me. First thought was take a pic, second thought was darn, I have the wrong lense on. Third thought after seeing 2 cubs go up a tree was to get out of there. (time between 1st and 3rd thought was about as fast as a blink of an eye) I backed of about 40 yards and snapped a shot as they were crossing the trail. Between the exhaustion of hiking uphill for 1.5 miles, being startled and scurrying back down the hill, the shot was slightly blurred. Told wife I need to get a VR lense now. Pic taken with Nikon D80 70-300mm f5.6
