Not exactly upland, but need advice!!
We are putting some serious thought into offering day dove hunts on a pretty nice piece of property near Fredericksburg, Texas this season. Stonewall actually.
What is the going rate as far as you know for a place that will gets very little pressure and should have plenty of birds? Thanks, Tim |
RE: Not exactly upland, but need advice!!
In Ky you either lease the field and have it planted, about $1500-$3000 depending on how much land and what you plant, or pay by the head per day. Usually $20 a gun. The only pay hunt I do for dove is to support our local QU chapter.

Tim,
you're really in the wrong area. Fredburg is known for deer but not dove. Thats not to say you can't do it but once your natives are shot out, it's unlikely that they will be replaced by migrating birds.... You are in the central zone and the hot bed for that area is between Brownwood, Coleman and Abilene. Fredrickburg is more geared toward deer and hogs but really isnt known for dove. You might start at $30 a day and see how that works but, as i said, once your native doves are shot out it would be hard to replace them. |

I'm not exactly sure but I would charge by the bird. thats what they do for pheasants in South Dakota.

you cant charge by the bird in TX. Technically, you cant charge by the deer either.
