Public pheasant hunt
I'm just starting to think about a public land pheasant hunt this season. I was thinking about someplace in Kansas but I've never hunted there. Anybody got a good recomendation on a decent spot. We have a good dog and 4 guns planning on going.

Yes,
Great Upland hunting in western half of state and especially in the western 1/3 of state. Lots of public land and lot's of friendly landowners too. Book your hotel room early in the year becuase there aren't a whole lot out there and they fill up fast. Out of state hunting is a huge source of revenue for the state of kansas. Here is the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks website... www.kdwp.state.ks.us ... they have county maps showing plots of WIHA (Walk In Hunting Areas) and Public Hunting Areas.
Good luck and have fun,
Tom
