RE: Quail feed

Are they chicks or larger? I raise pheasants to eat and dog training .for chicks i use chicken or trukey starter ,after they grow they get turkey chow ,both come from the local elevator .i have used chicken feed. the birds will need water I use cokie sheets .if they are chickes put a (several) heat lamps in the center of the pen to keep them warm with areas with/out if they get to warm. in ohio you need a permit to raise game birds ,get mine from the local gamewarden. they need a pen that is dry ,with a neted flight area if you want them to fly good ,i have a area 12' x 36' .they must be safe from rats and other pretors
That said I know a several people that use pigons because they are a lot tougher than quail
