Continental hunts

What are your feelings on continental hunts? Are they ethical in your mind and do or have you gone on one and if so, what did you think of them?

RE: Continental hunts

I'm not sure what you mean by "continental" hunts, but if you are refering to tower shoots at bird hunting preserves (where birds are released from a tower, and there are shooting butts that encircle the tower), I consider theses to be more "shoots" than "hunts". As for ethics, I don't have a problem if someone with a lot of cash wants to do this....there is the possibility that the birds will be missed and escape once they "run the gauntlet", so I do think that the idea of "fair chase" is present. This is not my cup of tea, however, and I prefer to hunt with the dog and have her find them and flush them for me to shoot. Some of the guys on these shoots can't hit the broad side of the barn, so I generally do well if I go hunting with the pup a day or two after a tower hunt....sometimes there is a fair amount of birds about. Just MHO.
