Decent Grouse Season So Far

Went out for a short Grouse hunt this morning and got Ruffs #13 & 14 and finally got Blue #1, so we're up to 15 for the season so far.

Since Quail season starts next weekend, so will probably hunt them instead of Grouse --- then will go back for more Grouse until our Waterfowl season.

That is a good season so far. What is your percentage of shots to flushes?

Doc E 09-28-2015 06:38 PM

I hunt with Pointing Labs, so I have plenty of time to get ready for the flush and then shoot.
I have shot 21 shells for the 15 birds.

That would be darn good in PA grouse cover, I assume they like the thick stuff in WA as well.

Doc E 09-29-2015 05:02 AM

Our cover is extremely thick.
