Default Pheasant and quail hunt in Mexico

Hey folks,

I just got back from the Dallas Safari Club show, and I met an outfitter who offers a terrific deal on a wild pheasant/quail hunt in Baja, Mexico. I would have booked a hunt for this fall, but he has a 3-person minimum, and I'm a solo hunter (actually he will accept a lone hunter, but then you have to provide your own transportation from San Diego, or the price goes up). I'm wondering if anyone out there would be interested in joining me either this year or next year? It's a 3 day hunt for all wild birds with very generous limits, and it includes lodging, all meals, bird cleaning, dogs, guides, even loaner shotguns in case you don't want to bother with taking your gun across the border. Price is $1950/person. He seems like a very reputable outfitter (he has exhibited at the DSC show for years and donated several hunts to their auctions) and it is a great deal for anyone who does not have his own dog or who just wants to be able to legally shoot 5 pheasants a day plus quail in a truly fair-chase setting (i.e., no pen-raised birds).
There is one catch: apparently, the USDA has issued a temporary ban on importing poultry due to concerns about bird flu. The outfitter told me that he is optimistic the ban will be lifted by this fall, but unless it is lifted all bets are off. I'm not going all the way down there if I can't bring my birds home.
In the mean time, if this sounds appealing to any of you bird fanatics out there, send me an e-mail and we'll see if we can work something out. It doesn't really matter where you live, so long as you can meet me in San Diego in time for the proscribed pick up by the outfitter.
If you're interested, let me know!
