Dove hunting in the Mountains of CO

Anyone done much dove hunting in the mountain area's of CO? I see them in town flying around (Durango). But I have yet to see them in the mtns or more rural areas where I can hunt. I do not have any access to private land unfortunately so it would need to be private. Going to head out to the high country this afternoon and see about some marmots :D

Was up around missionary ridge and saw some grouse but no doves or marmots. Saw a marmot yesterday in Telluride though, but i was on the gondola. Going to head towards silverton today and look for doves/deer/elk and marmots :)

Doves are "lowland" birds.
Look around watering holes as well as wheat (grain fields) or fields of weeds.
As far as private land --- go knock on some doors -- the worst that can happen is that they say "No".
