RE: upland magazine?
I really like Pointing Dog Journal. It is totally about upland gamebird hunting, and the fine guns and dogs that are associated with it.
Gundog magazine is pretty good, too, but they have quite a few pages devoted to retrievers and waterfowl hunting.
You might also want to check out Shooting Sportsman. High-end, for sure, but beautifully crafted and written.

RE: upland magazine?
since you didn' t say which type of dogs you were into, i would say gun dog. i get it and it has great tips on training dogs, gun, place to go, and a variety of birds. you can " steal" some good tips from from all of the different trainers. i have brittneys, but i have gotten some good ideas from the retrever and flusher trainers. i have read pointing dog journal, and it is a good magazine too, i will probably subscribe to it when i let a few magazine subscriptions go. i will never drop gun dog though.
another good upland magazine is pheasants forever. great articles, super, high gloss photos, and you are helping pheasant/quail habitat. quail unlimited has a magazine too, i believe
