Dog training
 

I'm going to pick up my black lab on the first. Been waiting a long time for this. It'll be 8 weeks then, and i wanna learn about training. I wanna do it right. I hunt anything and everything so i was wondering how much i can teach him to do. i want him to retrieve waterfowl but i also want him for upland game and such if possible. I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice? I don't know when to start how to start etc. I dont know how possible it is to have him do waterfowland and upland but any info would help or maybe a good source. Thanks!

look up NAVHDA.com Get hooked up with a local chapter and you can do everything you are asking. I have a buddy that is part of it and they seem to be good people to deal with.

Get in to an obedience class too, getting an obedient dog would be first and foremost, then move on to stuff you will be using in the field. @ 8 weeks just start with fun retrieving, don't correct him, just praise the hell out of him when he does something right. You just have to show him what you want, there are a million different views on training protocol and you will just have to pick which suits you best. There are a ton of good books as well.
