Lots of proud mama grouse...
 
:DI spent most of this weekend in the mountains and was happy to see plenty of little baby grouse! Always amazes me how fast they can move! And there is nothing funnier than a mama grouse all ready to kick your butt to protect her little ones!:D

The few experiances I have had with grouse (ruffed) has made me wonder why these birds have not gone extinct. Some seem to have no fear of man[>:].

i agree.....i was walking to a fishing pond a mile or so back in the woods and a grouse popped out on a trail....full strut ready to take me and my dad on...behind her were a bunch of little ones......i could stepped on her but she still wanted to take us on!! i was young and thought she was a turkey lol....i cant wait for grouse season!

Went out the last 3 mornings and eves., if we dont break the record on chukar counts this year ill be amazed. over 300 babys each outing, saw more baby quail last two night than ive everseen. So fall has a bright side!!!!!!!
