Default Old Ammunition?

Hello everyone, i'm going to be getting a shotgun and my dad has a whole metal box full of 12 gauge shotgun shells. The problem: i'm not sure how old they are, can someone tell me from the pictures if they look "usable"? Thank you.

looks good to me, most of them are winchester AA...as long as they aren't all rusty on the ends...should be good to go.

Default shells

From the pics I would have no problem using it.

Thanks for replying. I"m wondering something though.....on the red bullets some are labeled "light shot" and some are labeled "heavy shot" Should i use the light shot on dove and the heavy shot on things like grouse and ducks? Thanks

These shells should work fine for doves and maybe grouse. However, I'm pretty sure they are not steel, so you don't want them anywhere near you if you are hunting waterfowl. Your local conservation officer would give you a hefty fine. I think its like $25/shell in Minnesota.

Default Shells

It looks like those shells may be reloads! That's ok they should work fine for grouse, wood****,doves. Also use them at gun clubs to shoot skeet or sporting clays to get ready for hunting season. Remember in Wisconsin you must use steel for doves on DNR managed lands. Small game licenses are around $15.00 in Wisconsin.
