Remove both wings.

Pull the feathers from the breast.

Put your fingers under the rib cage and seperate the entire rib cage (including both breasts) from the rest of the body.

Remove remaining feathers and skin.

Place in baggie in cooler.

I believe a shotgun is the only legal firearm you can shoot migratory game birds with. Of course you could always throw rocks at them.

I just bought a Fausti 20 Ga/ over/under and 2 shots 2 kills. I love it. Also have an 870 and love that too..

For waterfowl I use Win. Mod. 12 12ga. full choked 28" bl. For upland game birds I use an L.C.Smith 20 ga, sxs.
