Upland question for all the KY hunters

I am looking at moving back to KY from ID and I am wondering what the upland hunting is like?! I spent about 4 years in KY hunting grouse and squirrels but dont know about pheasant, quail, chukar, any others?

This is the one area I would like to see KDFWR improve upon...big game (deer, elk, bear, turkey) have seen exploding populations...but not upland game.

Upland bird is mostly ruffed grouse (some very good hunting) and a few WMA with pheasants (quota hunts).

The dove season is very popular in the central part of the state. Occassionally, you can find a quail hear or there, but would not make much of a bet on it.

Good luck if you move back.
