cleaning a quail

Is it more or less the same as cleaning doves? I dont know and was wanting to figure this out before I went out and tried for em just in case. Although if my current record holds true. I wont really have to worry about this.;)

RE: cleaning a quail

Not sure if it is right or wrong but that's how I do it. Quail are a lot sturdier than a dove and it takes a little more muscle to breast them out but it can be done with your bare hands just like a dove. You lose the leg meat that way, but I like the breast meat best anyway myself. I also bone the breast out like I do with dove as well and they end up on a kabob stuffed with jalepenos and wrapped in baconlike a dove as well. They taste good too!

Popping a breast out is popping a breast out, regardless of the bird. But do not waist meat on larger birds.
