RE: Phesant loads
I shoot a bunch of different stuff. I don' t have to many get away. A good dog helps with that. I like the #5 as well. I shoot a handload of HS6 from hodgden and 1 1/4 oz of shot. I loaded in old style winAA' s. I too took a number of pheasants this past year, both wild and game farm. I shot reolads, winchesters, remingtons, PMC' s (which are a great shell as well), and even though I hate them, Federals. [X(]Worst fouling, dirtiest burning, smelliest shells on the market[X(] JMHO

I like Federal #5 in 12 gauge and Federal #4 3" mags in 20 gauge. I useually will buy a case of ammo in either #4,#5,#6 shot of Winchester, Remington, or Federal depending what my local gunstore has on sale. I have been useing Winchester #6 Supreme 20 gauge 3" mags with good success.

RE: Phesant loads
I hunt a lot of public ground and have to shoot steel, even at pheasant, so I use Winchester 3" # 2s. When I hunt where I can hunt with lead, my friend always uses Federal Pheasants Forever #5 and they (or he) are remarkable. When I run out of all the old lead I have, I' m going to get some of those Federal PF #5s for myself.
