That' s a possibility I was just reading in my Turkey Call mag that coons are the biggest predator of turkey eggs at night than any other so I would imagine they take others just as well

Ya. I saw a bibcat and a hawk fighting over a tom turkey. and five days later i saw another bobcat carry a hatchling across the road

I would have to say it depends on what part of the state. In northeast iowa I have seen more pheasants this last month then last year. There hasnt been to many trappers that i have seen. As far as the south there is no pheasants near Albia IA that I have seen and there are more trappers down that way. From what I can see I think that it has a small role in it.

Yes.
In my area there are three predators that have a dramatic effect on the bird eggs,
domestic dogs, coyotes, and coons. After they hatch, the Red tail hawk takes a toll on the young. I' m glad I' m not a delicious tasting wild bird.
