missouri hunting
I'm new to the forum and to hunting (but haven't ever hunted cept once when a friend invited me to quail hunt and we hit nothing) but want to get into it and am wanting to know what kind of game birds people hunt in missouri. I'm located in springfield mo and really dont want to hunt any of the lodges/preserves so walk on public land is what i am looking for. Also will be in the market for a good bird dog so breeders and trainers would be nice to know about in the area. As far as guns go dont have one yet but am thinking about a rem 870 if anyone was wanting to. Feel to offer up and tips also I've never really had anyone to teach me to hunt so advice is always good.

Bois Darc is close to Springfiled. It usually has some good dove hunting. I don't know about the quail hunting though. I have hunted the public land around Stockton Lake for rabbits and we saw alot of quail their. It is really thick though. 870 will be a great gun to hunt with, good luck in your search.

Dove season starts Sept 1 and the limit in MO is now 12 birds. Good luck!
