Try a 28ga. with 6's. (A snub nose 38 kills just as dead as a cannon.) Accuracy is what counts!!!

I use 7 1/2 in 2 3/4" in my CZ Bobwhite. I usually end up with a mixture of pheasant & quail in my hunts.

if your pheasant trip has the possibilty of quail, i shoot 6s. enough punch for pheasants but light enough for quail. just let the littkle guys get out there a little ways before you drop em. as far as it being strictly pheasant, i stick to a heavy load of 5s. especially in late season when the birds rear ends are already full of lead and theyre flushing a mile away. good luck!

I grabed #6's yesterday on accident. The dog recovered 2 wounded birds. I'm afraid the yotes got two more that I didn't hit hard enough to knock down. Most of the time I use 3 inch #5's from my 20g.
