Remington 1100 Barrel??
I recently bought a used Remington 1100 Classic Trap and it was a 21 in barrel on it that the past owner used to shoot clays. I am looking at getting a new barrel to use for upland hunting. I am very new to this upland thing so I don't know much. Anyone have a suggestion on what kind/length of barrel to purchase? Thanks guys!

RE: Remington 1100 Barrel??
I'm a little confused with your post, you say you have a classic trap with a 21" barrel? Usually trap guns have 30' barrels and sometimes higher ribs, also if it has a trap stock they are designed to make the gun shot high. Trap guns are designed so you can keep the bird above the barrel and break the target as it rises. It also matters what type of hunting you will be doing with it, does the 21" barrel have screw in chokes? If it does it would be fine for upland hunting or turkey hunting. You can find used barrels on many of the gun sites. You may want to purchase another stock that is flatter for hunting, good luck.

RE: Remington 1100 Barrel??
I agree with what Paulp said and asks. Otherwise, I recommend a 26" but a 28" will do fine. I would recommend spending the extramoney for a newone with Rem Chokes. I've seen them priced anywhere from $136 at Guns Unlimited in Omaha, NE, to $189 at Scheels. I recently replaced the fixed full choke 28" on my 1100 with a 26" Rem Choked.
