I just got off the phone with my uncle, had to ask him how opening weekend of pheasant hunting was.

He said he got to some public CRP land a little before sun up. There was a guy there with his son (first time for the son). He asked to join them and they welcomed him. They were just getting out into the field, when 2 cabelas fans pulled up. Unloaded several dogs and a bunch of people. Just basically ran right over the top of them.

My uncle had just moved away from the Sidney NE area to the northern part of the Panhandle. Said it's the same way around Sidney. Any good CRP place they just take the guided hunts out in numbers and overwhelm anybody else thats there. They bought as many hunting leases up as they can and just took over everywhere within 100 miles of Sidney.

This is just what he said, I can't really validate it, but I can imagine they could and probably would do something like this for some guided hunts.

I would call them on it. Contact them and tell them what happend and see what they say. Maybe they will offer you a free hunt??? that would be nice huh?

Guides who make money on Public Land really hackle my feathers! If you guide you must have your own lease! I call the state everytime I find one of hsoe Yahoos!

I also would REALLY complain to Cabela's!
