RE: Pheasant Hunting
This is in North Central Kansas

I am going to be working here this winter. I don't know much about it yet, but it isa really good place to hunt. It is in the middle of the best pheasant hunting ground in KS.The manager down there said that a group of 3-4 guys on a 1-1/2 day hunt can expect to go home with 60-70 birds.I assume they do longer hunts too. They provide dogs and excellent meals. If you call them, talk to Joe Heskett and tell him Lucan Shamburg sent you.
Check it out. I don't think you will be disappointed in the hunting. They will do everything to make you comfortable during your stay.
Good Luck!!!

our grouse here in pa. are WILD and with leaves off,40 yd shots are norm with full chokes..
so, that hunting is what i would be interested in,not the killing of a lot of birds.
also my dog is trained on GROUSE,so wild pheasant would be what he is used too and me too.
if its was not so expensive, gas, lodging etc, i would do it in heartbeat..
sadly, i feel we are going into a RECESSION SOON..

RE: Pheasant Hunting
Acres & acres of public land in Kansas with birds...........check out their website for information. I go out from Ohio twice a year, and very seldom run into other hunters out in the field.

River Hill,
There's a website that offers guides, land, etc. www.country-adventures.com. I've been living and hunting out here, Nebraska, my whole life and bird hunting doesn't get any better than this! Our opener is this weekend, and I'm taking out my 2 year old cocker spaniel, Ginger, should be a great time!
