RE: dove hunting questions
I also live in North Central Kansas, but I never hunt over a crop field. I hunt at a pond in the evening and get them when they come in for a drink before going to roost. Either way is good. I would say that sunflowers is as good as you can get for bringing doves in to feed.
By the way, cowboycrittergitter, where in KS are you from???

RE: dove hunting questions
Sunflowers, ponds, and dead trees are a good mix and it doesn't hurt to be in a good flyway type "funnel." Also keep an eye out for when farmers start shelling corn...the doves will usually flock to freshly picked corn fields.
