Do'es any one still use a 16, having a hard time finding shells. By the way Merry Christmas to all. Rich

I hunt with a Browning Citori, 16 gauge. I get all the ammo I want, either at Dicks Sporting goods or there's plenty available on line. Try Able Ammo, or Natchezss.com.

Good Luck

I think 16 gauge is the perfect gun. Why get one though? The shells are near impossible to find. 12 gauge is just as versatile.

unfortunately i accidentally bought a box of 25 16 gauge fiocci loads. Didn't look carefully enough, and gander mountain doesn't allow you to return ammunition.

So if any of you live in Waukesha WI, I have a free box of ammo for you.

2 3/4 inch 1 1/8 oz 1300fps and i think it is a number 6 or 7 shot. Id have to look, as i just left them in my car i was so mad after i looked at them.

The last several years my 16-gauge SxS Savage 311A is the only gun that comes out of the cabinet during upland season. Pheasant, grouse and woodcock all with the same gun shooting low brass 7 & ½ or 6’s. I’ve never had trouble finding shells at Wal-Mart.

I've had my M37 Ithaca 16 gauge for 10 years now, and finding shells hasn't been a problem. I just learned to keep my eyes peeled for them year round and snag 3 or 4 boxes every time the opportunity presents itself. Now I have a pretty good selection of shot sizes built up...but to be on the safe side, don't leave home without your own! By the way, it shoots great and is the only gun I own besides my BLR that I'll never part with.

Remington and possibly another manufacturer started making 16 gauges again. http://www.shootingtimes.com/longgun_reviews/rem_16_0507/

So, you should start seeing a few more places to buy ammo from, too. Otherwise, Cabela's and some other mail order companies sell 16 ammo through the mail.

I have a "sweet 16" Browning auto I bought from an officier, when I was stationed on the West coast in the Army over 30 years ago. His wife had used it for shooting clays. I used it for all sorts of bird hunting for a number of years, until I bought my first Benelli 12 a few year back.

The Browning 16 is really a beautiful Belgium made shotgun and I plan to hold onto it.
