I myself have an older 870 that my Pap gave me I love that gun. My little bro has a mossberg 500. I perfer the way the 870 ejects the shells better than the 500. but that is just my opinion

stay away from the 870 express get the wingmaster if you like the rems. My son and daughter have the 870 express in the 12@20 guages. they are the sloppiest gun i've ever handled .I like the winchesters myself but to each thier own.

I have owned two Mossbergs and never had a problem. Between my boys and I we have 7 Rem 870's and 6 Win 1300's. All of them will do the job. If I had to pick just one it would be the 870.

You wont go wrong with the 870 express super mag IMO .if you deer hunt you can get this gun in a combo package that comes with a fully rifled barrel with sightsfor around 525.00 or the plain ol' super mag for around375 with barrel lengths ranging from 23" to 30". kinda like idahotrapper was saying guys ive hunted with have fell in the mud while duck hunting and the gun was covered in mud ,wiped it off and the next duckthat flew in he shot twice and it didnt miss lick(and yes he killed the duck)

If I were to pick between the two, I wouldn't pick any, They are both junks, in my opinion. Save a little more money and get a BPS or NOVA, now those are real pump shotguns.

I think this is about the 20th time we've discussed this. All the shotguns mentioned here (Rem, Win, Moss, Ben) have proven track records and will get the job done. For me I chose Moss because of the safety configuration. I like the ergonomics. It shoots well. I think the Win and the Rem, swing a little better than the Moss.

Pick witch one feels best to you. You could have problems out of the box with either one, but either company will make it right.

go with the 870 wingmaster had mine for a while, my dad has had one forever its all he shoots, its so old it doesnt have an adjustable choke same with mine, only had one problem with mine it wouldnt eject my shells this past december in south dakota, when they had all that bad weather that knocked out power to like the whole state, so I just oiled it up really good and didnt have more problems with it, my dad has never had any problems with his, I think I might buy a SBE II this summer because I want a semi, and adjustable chokes, and I want to shoot 3 1/2 shells for geese, because 3 1/2 inch shells kick like a b!*(h in a pump, but you cant go wrong with an 870 wingmaster

i have two shotguns that i use for hunting. One is a s&w modle 916 which is my upland gun because it is extremly light. The other one i a winchester 1200 which i use for duck and turkey beacause it is more heavy and stable. If your budget can only afford one I would go for the mosberg my brother hunts with one and he said it is the best all around gun he has hunted with.
