Florida Quail

I will be in Central Florida this week and was looking to do some hunting at the Green Swamp WMA. I want to try and take some quail even though I know there is a very good chance I won't even see one. Despite this, I need to know what to look for. I don't have a dog so I will have to try and flush them myself. Are there any tips ya'll can offer up? I appricate the help. Thanks.

Without dogs, half the time you will not find them when they fall and you have to watch for rattle snakes when picking them up!

I hunt quail all the time without dogs in eastern SC. Just pick a spot that looks good and get out and walk. You will have to do a lot of walking. The other bad thing is your walkin along and they fly right up beside you and scare you half to death. But good luck.
