How long until I butcher my bird.

Lets say I take a turkey and don't have time to butcher him. Perhaps I have to get to work or can't get to the guy who will do it for me. How long do I have? Can I stick him in the refridgerator until I get a chance so the meat doesn't go bad? Thanks.

I would clean it first and not shoot if I had to go to work.

me too, the longest i havee ever gone is a couple of hours, maybe 3......but i thought i was pushing my luck ......it only takes a few minutes to breast them out and tkae the legs for soup.....dont take a chance of losing the meat....
