Have you ever watched the Wild Outdoors with Jay Gregory;)
Actually, no. Is it pretty good? I haven't had the outdoor channels very long and I haven't had much chance to watch much on them.

Awesome deal CJ!! You're right, every bird is a trophy, but to take one with a bow is even better. Way to hang in there!!!

Thanks! You said it - I can't imagine anything more fun and satisfying in the field than bowhunting for turkeys! What a rush!

As for broadheads, I just used a good ol' Muzzy. I had thought about putting one of those springy things behind the broadhead to help prevent a complete pass-through, but I decided against it because I thought it might not work so well with the shoot-through screens on the blind. Somehow I was fortunate enough to not get a complete pass-through anyway. The muzzy came out dead-center from the bird's chest, but as you can see by the pics, it didn't go all the way through and out. It stopped with about the first 5 inches of the arrow sticking out of the chest. From the way the bird dropped immediately, it must have just creamed all the vitals on its way through.

I haven't shot any other turkeys before, so obviously I don't know that much about their anatomy, but I was wondering if the breast area and chest plate/sternum are pretty tough to penetrate?
