RE: The debate begins: Warning, graphic
Very well written... loved the pics and how they kept me in the game.
My Lord man, you stomped that boss Tom! Congrats on such a fine bird! This season finds a red dot atop my turkey gun as well, and from my trips to the pattern board, I know it's gonna stay there for good. I recall you said the setting was on 9... was that the brightness or did your optic have magnification? I chose a 0x power model... no zoom on mine. The brightness settings run from 1 to 11, and glow the littel 5 MOA dot very cleanly. The objective comes in at a fairly compact 30mm, but the field of view and light gathering properties are excellent. Once again, great huntin' story and a big Congrats to both you and your Pa'. :) |

:D
The setting of "9" was the lighting level of the red dot. I learned from south Florida about the lighting levels that by the time of day I needed more power in the scope. Note: I have to test this as I go, I'm no expert. I just hold up the gun and look thru the scope and check as time and weather conditions dictate. I've found that leve #9 is okay unless you really have alot of sun shine, or your battery is low. ( I learned this the hard way). Have spares and have the access to the batterie easy to open just in case. But, man oh man, I love that scope more than I can express. For me, the proof is in the photos.:D I know have my families top shelf cat. due to it.:D:D:D |
