Opening weekend in Kansas Successful.

Well it was opening weeked here in Kansas and we had tremendous luck. Took out a first timer from texas and he shot a 20 lb. eastern that sported a 9 3/4 inch beard w/ 3/4 inch spurs. When we set up we drove under the roost and didn't realize it. I thought the birds had roosted on the North side of the pasture, but not at all they had roosted on the south side where we drove in. We litterally set up w/in 40 yds of the bird. When he flew down he headed straight for us. He didn't even care about the decoy. I told Andrew SHOOT him he's gonna get to close; Shot him at 14 yds. and he just flipped over backwards. Later that night we went out and my dad was able to take a decent tom at 70 yds!!!!! I'll post pictures here later, gonna go out again and look for my bird now.
