RE: WI HUNTERS POST PICS HERE
I'm not hunting Wisconsin till May 11th but here is a pic of one from another year in the Wisconsin turkey woods...Always like this photo as I setup the tripod and timer as I was hunting solo that day. Although my face is shaded, the colors on the bird were cool...

RE: WI HUNTERS POST PICS HERE
Got this bird this morning! Saw him from the blind, about 400 yards away, wouldnt come in to ANY cals, some me and my buddy did a belly crawl about 200 yards up through the corn field, then were able to get into the trees and crawl for about the last 200 yards, started comming out of the trees when we were close to the tom, drew my gun, and 3 toms came out of the woods and started attacking the tom that I just spent almost 40 minutes stalking!! Sat there for 3 - 4 minutes watching 4 toms brutally beat each other up over the one hen that was in sight, when my tom broke off for a second (the whole time this is happening I am 20 - 30 yards, standing up, gun drawn from these turkeys) I pulled the trigger and the rest is history. cool thing is, have some of it on video, but cant figure out how to post a video, I'll keep trying though!!
ps... I anticipated posting a pic, but cant figure out how! can someone PM me and tell me how to do it, same with video if anyone knows. Thanks!! Sean |

RE: WI HUNTERS POST PICS HERE
Shot this at 6:30 am last Friday about 30 miles east of Stevens Point. Still made it to teach school on time before the first bell! 22 pounds, only an 8 inch beard due to most of it being rotted off (frozen). Inch and a quarter spurs, this bird was an old fighter in rough shape. Tail fan busted up pretty good.

RE: WI HUNTERS POST PICS HERE
My tag ain't for a couple weeks yet... but here are some pic's of a tom I called in for a farmer on public land in S.E. Wisconsin after we burned up all of his private land (He missed 4 different birds I called in for him on his grounds) He got it sunday afternoon with just an hour left to hunt. I posted these right after the hunt, but they moved off the page quickly, sorry if you already saw them.
Just B-4 the shot Coming out of the swamp we had to walk through to get to the ridge. Team pic. I am on the right :D |

RE: WI HUNTERS POST PICS HERE
A few of us over here were just talking last week about the size of the birds consistently killed over near Elderon. I'm really impressed with the heavy birds in that area. Good luck week five, I'm up again week 6.

RE: WI HUNTERS POST PICS HERE
Here's another. My Buddy got his first bow killed bird on opening morning of the 2nd week. 23lbs, 9 1/2" beard and 3/4" spurs. It's great when a plan comes togeather.:D
We both have tags for the 5th week of season. We are both hoping to double up on Tom's again. |
RE: WI HUNTERS POST PICS HERE
Oldtwohairs, I really like the coloration in those fans, especially the 2nd one. Very nice color to those birds! Congrats.

RE: WI HUNTERS POST PICS HERE

|
RE: WI HUNTERS POST PICS HERE
Thanks! I thought that the coloration in that bird was quite differant also, it's almost a blonde color. I have never seen that in any of the other birds that I have taken around my place.

RE: WI HUNTERS POST PICS HERE
Here's my 2nd gobbler of the year, 9th bow killed turkey. Got him on May 11th. It was really a crappy morning, rainy and windy. I picked the right spot! I got a 28yd shot. He ran about 15yds then the other three toms jumped on him when he was down. Had to chase them away before they pecked my bird apart.
It was a GREAT SEASON for me. That is the third time I've drawn 2 tags in WI. I've been lucky to fill them all with my bow! WAHOO...........!!!!! |
RE: WI HUNTERS POST PICS HERE
This is my first year bagging one with a bow. He was 22.5 lbs., 9" beard, with 1 1/2" spurs. I am getting the tail fan, back feathers, breast feathers, beard, and spurs in a mount. I won't get it back for about three months, but I will take a picture and post that as well if anyone is interested. I have some land in Shawano County, and that is where I got him from.

RE: WI HUNTERS POST PICS HERE
Here's the nice tom I got the 3rd period in central WI. My wife called him in from a position 100+ yards behind me. He came past me at 18 yards. Teamwork paid off. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to return the favor. I'll have to work on that one next season.

RE: WI HUNTERS POST PICS HERE
