say or live it, the PRESSURE is on me now. My southern Florida section of spring turkery season ends tomorrow at 1:00pm.[:@][:@][:@]
Had my chance of sorts today. Went steep and really, really deep into the "Big Green Nasty" and came up empty on the tree calling and fly down. No gobbels either. Decided to go on walkabout in hopes of changing my luck. Had heavy rain as of late so any tracks would be washed away, but the new ones from today would show up real good. Found the place I wanted to go and found fresh tracks, (really fresh tracks). That's when I saw them, all of them.
Unleash the dogs of war, the game is now afoot. The battle engaged for over 400 yards of cat and mouse. The hens, all of them, didn't want to hear anything from me nor would they let that big bad boy even think about sneaking off for some "free time" with the new girl over there.
Tried everthing I know, nothing worked, But man oh man, did he look good. I wanted him bad, real bad.
Bottom line, he lives today and tonight. Thinking strongly about going back in his neck of the glades tomorrow.
Have to sleep on it. Long walk but, so is my other spot for the final day of hunting.
