Mossberg 835/turkey choke/HV shot?
 

I went to Dick's today figuring to pick up a box of Hevi shot to further improve my pattern. I asked if the turkey choke that came with the 835 was alright for shooting HV shot and was told that it was too tight and that I would need to get another choke with a modified or looser diameter for Hevi shot. Since I didn't care to buy another choke PLUS the very expensive Hevi shot when I already get a pretty decent pattern, I picked up another box of Winchester 3 1/2" #5 turkey loads and yet another set of diaphragm calls.

Is the Mossberg 835's turkey choke ill-advised for Hevi shot?

I don't think so....You will need to get an
 

after market choke.
