Mossberg 835 trigger

Hello to everyone, cool forum.
I just got 2 new 835s and both have very stiff triggers which effect my accuracy somewhat. Does anyone know if the triggers on the 835 can be adjusted any.

I've never had an 835 down, but if they are similar in design to their 500 series, I'd say not without a competent gunsmith.

The hammer spring in the 500 is integral within the trigger group. Short of working down the sear engagment surface, (which I don't advise), the only way to lighten the pull (on a 500), would be to install a softer main spring. Ahh, but that could lead to unreliable ignition of your primers.

It seems to me that the newer guns all seem to come with a built in attorney. His name is always "Trigger" and he weighs anywhere from 8 to 14 pounds. Safety first is their motto, but often at the expense of a crisp, clean pull. [&o]

Trigger seems to be okay on my 835.

Thanks for your replies. I will try to speak with a gunsmith about it.

I just bought a new Mossberg grand slam with the 20" barrel and also feel the trigger is pretty heavy. It is heavier than my Mossberg 9200 semi-auto. Oh well. Let us know what the gunsmith says..

When I first got my 835 I thought that the trigger was a little stiff too. I asked my gunsmith if he could do something with it, and he said he wouldn't have nothing to do with it. So I learned to live with it.
