constriction?
The choke I use on my gun says .575
The choke for my friends gun is .665 Is my choke too tight. I hear a lot of guys talking about chokes, and the general consensus is .665 is a good choke. my gun is a win 1300. it patterns really well. my choke is an undertaker choke. What do you guys think? just curious. |
RE: constriction?
The .575 sounds more like a choke rated for a 20 gauge. I had a 1300 a few years back and it liked the .665 as well. You could always mic the inside diameter to be certain, but I don't think they make a choke that tight, (.575) for a 12 gauge. I could be wrong there, but I don't think so.

RE: constriction?
I use a Remington 870 SPS-T 12 gauge, 21" barrel, Kick's Gobblin' Thunder choke tube in .665. I shoot #5 shot through it.

RE: constriction?
i agree with jolly, i think thats 20 gauge...

RE: constriction?
.575 is a common turkey constriction for 20ga. if its a 20ga it shouldnt screw into your gun or it may be a 12ga that is marked wrong. if it is a 12 ga tube and the constriction is .575, DONT SHOOT IT. You'll end up killing yourself and anyone near you cause your barrell will explode in spectacular fashion.

RE: constriction?
Another reason why I fear for my life every time I set foot in the turkey woods:eek:

RE: constriction?
It says right on the choke .575, it also says for 12 ga. I put quite a few shots through it already, it patterns fine. was just curious.
BTW I did mic it and it is what it says. |
RE: constriction?
good luck with the choke RBH. be careful with it though, check it often for swelling or cracks.
