RE: Choke Tubes: Help!!!

Strut- There has been many time when I have been able to reuse my arrows. How often do you reuse your shells?

Just because its the most expensive ammo on the market doesn't necessarily make it the best, nor would I say spending 3 time the money as "a little extra". If Nitro is the only thing that will pattern in your gun have at it , but I can get the same results for a whole lot less $$$.

it all depends on what size shot you want to use and whether the load is hevishot, copperplated or lead.as already pointed out,you already have a good tube and pattern, why change?the hevishot loads[nitro, rem hevishot, win extended flight, and federal top flight]need a tube of .670 or .675 in most tubes while the regular loads normally like the .660 or .665 tubes.the rhino that is designed for the nitro and rem hevishot is .660 but can be gotten in other dia as well.you might try the rem choke super full which is .665 dia.it works well in my 870 super mag with hevishot 4s and 5s.

When you said you had a factory choke, did you mean the Super Full Choke (.665)? I have one of those for my 1100 and it will throw 30+ #4s in a turkey's head target at 40 yards. I use the Winchester Supreme Copper Plated shot in 2 3/4". Patterned #4s, #5s, #6s and they all pattern pretty well from 30 to 40 yards with the #4s doing the best at the longer ranges.

Spend the money and get a Comp-n-choke they are way above the rest, maybe a 660 or 665 , not only will it hammer a turkey you might even win a still shoot and a ham. Good luck.

Can you honestly say that you yourself have shot the Nitro Hevi ammo thru your own gun?

I shoot the gobble stopper extreme in my 835 and 935, with rem hevi-shot shoots an awesome pattern. 22 pellets in the head and neck at 40 yards.

RE: Choke Tubes: Help!!!

Wednesday mornin me and a buddy went hunting. I passed on two nice toms for a chance at a better one. I wish I hadn't. My buddy didn't pass on them and he now his second of the year, a 22lb bird with a 9" beard and 1 1/8 hooks. He shoots a Rem. 870 with a Trulock .665 and Win Hi-density Extended Range #6s. This morning I took my cousin on his first hunt. He got his first bird, 18.5 lbs, 9" beard and 1" hooks. He was using an 835 with a Trulock .680 and Federal copper plated lead #6s with the flite control wad. I'll try to get the pics up today.
