Hens

This maybe kinda of a dumb question, but I'm a newbie. Do you shoot hens? Or is it even legal to shoot them. I've never seen anyone shoot a hen on t.v so I was wondering.

Here in NH it's says our bag limit is "1 bearded bird or male turkey" in the Spring so legally to can! as long as it's got a beard. In the Fall you can take either sex but with the bow only.

I've seen a lot of bearded hens running around the areas I hunt in but have yet to see one while hunting.

RE: Hens

Our state of Wisconsin allows the harvest of hens during the fall season, but during the spring, its only turkeys with a beard. so technically you could shoot a bearded hen. but for the most part, no shooting hens in the spring
