In search of a decent slate or crystal call...any suggestions?

I am in the market for a decent call and though I would get some opinions. I currently have an old Copper Pot by HS. It has a crystal and makes a pretty good raspy call.

Also, what would be a good striker to get. I have 3 strikers now, and all of them leave me something to be desired. Any suggestions on a striker purchase?

I have always been a primos fan, but some of the Cody calls look good to me too.

I picked up the Penn's Woods Waterproof Cutt-N-Cluck this weekend to have as a low cost waterproof replacement in case my box call gets wet. I really like this call. Small on convienient to hide in my vest ans still makes some nice tones.

Try Kaiser calls or Prairie game calls. Ive bought from both and they are #1 in my book.
Great sounding custom calls.

My favorite all time slate is a H.S. Strut Triple Glass. I use a rosewood striker with that. This is my go to glass call.

I've got a custom call from Kaiser Calls and also have a M.A.D. Super Crystal that is similiar in sound. That M.A.D. super crystal allows me to get about as close to sounding like a raspy sex crazed hen than any other I've tried and it makes me look like a better turkey hunter than I am!! I just had Andy make me a Kaiser call last year and haven't had a chance to take it hunting but it sounds great and that zebra wood is really cool looking as well. Andy was really nice too and got the call done for me in a timely manner. Here is link to his website!!

Wow, those kaiser calls look great...but kind of pricey for what I wanted right now.

Get a hold of Slee, or Bldhound, from this site...They make what's called "Backwood's" Call's. They gave me one of their slate's last season to field test.....That call ended up with 10 bird's in the bag...:D

As far as a mass produced call goes it would be hard to beat Primos Power Crystal. It is the amber colored one, I believe model no.P217. They can be bought for under $20.00. Easy to use, and volume is no problem. A great call for the money.
