polishing the forcing cone

I have read about polishing the forcing cone and barrel with scotch brite and a drill does it hurt or help to polish your choke as well?

I wouldn't polish the choke it comes polished from the factory. You may actually defeat the purpose if you polish it because you could remove some of the metal chokes and loosen the constriction of the choke.

Thanks for the advice. The reason Iwas asking is because I just bought a new choke and it doesn't look very smooth. I figured if it helps to polish your barrel if might help to have the bore of your choke smooth as well. I'll go pattern it and if it doesn't shoot well I'll polish it and post the results. Just looking for that little edge to improve my pattern.
