QB mini boat paddle
 

Does anyone here use one of these box calls? I have one and the sound that comes off of this thing is soo high pitched that I would be scared to use it in the woods. I have a few other box call and none of them are that high pitched. Is there something wrong with this box or should it sound that way?

That is just the nature of that call. It is extremely effective on very windy days, or wet damp days where sound doesn't travel as well.

I second Ryan. I use my mini boat for long range calling it's great for cutt'n once the gobbler start's to come in which to a softer call.

And I third that. I use mine out west a lot for long range work. It really gets out there. I've had times that it was the only call i had that would work.

I Got The Hurricane..Not Offence But I Think QB Box Calls Suck. I've Trien many Never Heard A One I Like. Hurricane Is Water Proof So Thats Nice. There Friction Calls (Eradicators)(Slate,Glass) Are Awsome And There Mini Mag Mouth Calls

Got one and that is the way they are supposed to sound. Not my go to call but on windy days it is the one to reach for. That high pitch seems to cut through the wind. I like to wander the ridges and cut on mine when the wind is up and the birds are quiet. If I get a response I try to close in and switch to closer range calls to try and close the deal.

To many gobblers have fallen to this call to say it "sucks"!Flat country or anywhere where long range calling is a help this call shines in getting responses giving you the opportunity to get set-up on a bird!I use mine the same way bw uses his with great success!!;)
