Osceola Info

I have a friend that has invited me to hunt on his lease in West Central Fla for Osceolas this spring. My friend hunts deer and hogs, but not turkeys. He really can't provide me with much info about hunting these birds other than where he usually sees them. I have hunted easterns for over 30 years and have hunted merriams and rios several times, but never Osceolas. I would like to find someone that hunts or guides for Osceolas, just to ask some questions about hunting these birds. I know that different birds, in different areas act and respond differently. It might save me some valuable hunting time if I were better prepared before I get there.

Thanks,
Randy835

I hunted for the Osceola 3 Springs ago... Clay county... I found them to be very similar to Easterns... they took to the fields early & held up around them all day long. I called in 11 in 4 days & me & my 4 friends took 4 birds. One piece of advise when setting up in the palmettos... wear snake chaps!

RE: Osceola Info

As a general rule they are tougher to move on. The flat landscape gives the turkeys the edge. Make good use of small terrain changes.
