Ol Yeller broke

Yesterday morning I was practicing with my new ol yeller and the slate fell out of the box. Can I just glue it back down, or will this mess up th sound?

All I can say is give it a try...can make it any worse than what you have now which is a call that doesn't work....right?

Actually the call still works. The slate basically fell out of the box. It seems like it just came unglued. I'm wondering if I can just put a little bit of glue around the edge of the slate and glue it back to the box?
